In major cities like Yangon and Mandalay, the shortage of Thai-made food products and consumer goods at grocery stores, supermarkets, malls, and wholesale centers has reached its most critical level in recent days.

This situation stems from the military leader, Min Aung Hlaing, closing the border gate under the pretext that tax revenues generated from the border are strengthening the revolutionary forces.

While Thai goods are also imported through the Tachileik-Mae Sai route, the Military Commission has now imposed restrictions on shipments via this corridor as well.
