A nearby noisy pub bigger turn-off than a brothel for most Australians

A survey* of house buyers has found that a nearby noisy pub is a bigger turn-off than a brothel for most Australians.

75 per cent of respondents, in the survey of nearly 2 thousand people, also said they wouldn't purchase a property where crime was rife.

Meanwhile an industrial area is as big a turn off as a noisy pub with almost two in three respondents saying they would pass on a house if factories were nearby.

Superstition is still at play in modern Australia, with 12 per cent of respondents ready to say "no deal" to deceased estates.

One in 20 respondents wouldn't buy a house with the street number "13" either.
