The global boss of the Indian mining giant Adani will meet Queensland's Premier today (tue)ahead of an expected announcement on a controversial coal mine.

Gautam Adani will meet Annatascia Palaszczuk (palla-shay)in Townsville, which is expected to be unveiled as the headquarters for the project in the Galilee Basin.

Adani yesterday (mon) won final approval for what will be Australia's biggest coal mine.

But it's triggered a fresh round of protests from environmental activists against the 21.7 billion dollar Carmichael mine project, who claim it will negatively impact the Great Barrier Reef.

Conservationists are planning to target the meeting between the premier and mining boss in Townsville for more protest.
