Australians will have to pay GST on items worth less than $1000 bought from overseas from July next year.

Parliament's lower house on Wednesday rubber-stamped a one-year delay to the legislation which was announced in the May budget.

The Turnbull government has also agreed to a request for the Productivity Commission to review the measure and report back by October 31.
