Australia has achieved an unbroken 25-year economic expansion, only ever bettered by one country in global economic history.
The Netherlands has the longest ever growth run at 26 and a half years.
The latest national accounts show the economy grew at an upbeaten annual pace of 3.3 per cent in the 2015/16 financial year, the fastest clip in four years.
However, the accounts also showed growth slowed to 0.5 per cent in the June quarter, down from a perky, but downwardly, revised 1.0 per cent in the previous three months.
Treasurer Scott Morrison said the extraordinary achievement belonged to all workers.
"The result ... is a tribute to every Australian who has gone out there, gone to work, got a job, that is running or has started a small business or a business more generally, has invested in a new product, has secured a new market, has taken on another employee or invested in new plant and equipment," he told reporters in Canberra.
But he also warned against complacency if Australia wanted the growth to continue.
