Australia should give permanent residents the vote

Each year more than 200 thousand permanent visas are issued in Australia.

In most cases permanent residents cannot vote in Australian elections, including the upcoming Federal Election on July 2.

This means millions of Australian residents, while living, working, paying taxes and using public services don’t have the same rights to vote as citizens.

We want to know: should permanent residents be allowed to vote?
