mmigration Minister Peter Dutton has dismissed a rape advocate as a publicity seeker with "mental health issues".
Return of Kings leader Daryush "Roosh" Valizadeh, who believes rape should be legal on private property, has been taunting border officials, saying he'll sneak into Australia from Indonesia or East Timor.
"I think this is a publicity stunt by somebody who has mental health issues," Mr Dutton told Sky News, adding there was no evidence that he had applied for a visa.
Human Rights Commissioner Tim Wilson says denying an entry visa to Mr Valizadeh does not violate free speech, describing him as a "despicable and loathsome" figure.
"What is being restricted is freedom of movement. All countries have a right to decide who comes into their country, or not," he wrote in Fairfax Media on Wednesday.
Greens senator Larissa Waters has welcomed the government's stance but is demanding further action.
"This is the least the government can do to address the rampant inequality," she said.
"I'm afraid the problems with sexism and gender inequality are deeper than simply stopping one American lunatic from coming in."
