China Eastern flight struck turbulence

Paramedics have been called to Sydney international airport after a plane struck turbulence, leaving several passengers with minor injuries.

The ABC understands about 10 people - two of them elderly - needed medical attention.

All of the injured were adults and an ambulance spokesman said they suffered bruising and abrasions.

Emergency services received the call for help just after 2:30pm.

It is believed there were 30 people on board the China Eastern Airlines plane, which landed safely.

Police said they were not required to attend.
