Chinese students left fuming after Sydney uni lecturer uses contested map of China-India border

The recent China-India border dispute is playing out at an Australian university.

根据「悉尼留学生互助会」微信账号的文章,有学生向该号报料,声称属于“印度裔”的资讯科技讲师 Khimji Vaghjiani 在课程讲义中使用错误的地图。

文章指,有关图片故意“分裂中国领土”,批评教师故意生事端,指有关行为“绝不能容忍”。文章还用了《人民日报》的一张宣传图,来强调“中国,一点都不能少”。

有学生留言建议学生应退出该学科以示抗议,也有学生认为向校方以及中国驻澳大使馆反应。

他表示,他在 18 个月前从网上下载该幅地图,用来解释资讯科技创业者在全球各地的特色。

他承认自己的疏忽,并对任何人造成困扰表示歉意。

中印两国边防军在边境的对峙已经持续了两个多月。有分析人士认为,这是两个拥有核武器的邻国几十年来最严重的关系危机。

两国关系的紧张也引发了本地华人社区作出反应。一些澳洲华人在印度独立日当天,在悉尼举行跑车慢驶对印度以示抗议。
