The former chief executive of the Immigrant Women's Health Service (IWHS) and the Non-English Speaking Housing Women's Scheme (NESH) is being investigated over fraud allegations.

Counsel Assisting Ramesh Rajalingam says she sought expenses of more than $200,000 during her time with the publicy funded community-health organisations.

"Jewellery was purchased, furniture as well, holidays and holiday-club memberships were paid for. Hair and beauty treatments were reimbursed to Miss Sharobeem on a regular basis, and clothes and food, domestic items. In addition to that, Miss Sharobeem used a credit card and/or credit-card account issued to the IWHS to make annual payments for memberships with Fitness First, Lite 'N Easy and Foxtel."

Eman Sharobeem was also a community-engagement manager with S-B-S Radio.

In February, when reports of the allegations emerged, S-B-S said she had resigned for health-related reasons after taking long-service leave.
