Typhoon Hato left five dead in the gambling hub of Macau Wednesday as it brought chaos and destruction to the enclave after sweeping through neighbouring Hong Kong, where one man also died.

天鸽"昨天上午迫近香港、澳门,两地发出了最高级别的10号台风警告,这是自香港2012年、澳门1999年以来的首次。中国中央气象台向华南地区发出最高级别的红色台风预警。

据香港大公网报道,遇难者中,一名62岁男子从高处堕下,一名30岁男子被强风吹倒撞墙丧生,一名45岁内地男游客被重型车辆辗压致死。

台风”天鸽“在香港造成严重破坏,导致数百栋建筑关闭,多趟航班取消。根据《新明日报》报道,香港国际机场8月23日的航班受影响,截至早上6时30分,共有420班航班取消。
