天鸽"昨天上午迫近香港、澳门，两地发出了最高级别的10号台风警告，这是自香港2012年、澳门1999年以来的首次。中国中央气象台向华南地区发出最高级别的红色台风预警。

据香港大公网报道，遇难者中，一名62岁男子从高处堕下，一名30岁男子被强风吹倒撞墙丧生，一名45岁内地男游客被重型车辆辗压致死。

台风”天鸽“在香港造成严重破坏，导致数百栋建筑关闭，多趟航班取消。根据《新明日报》报道，香港国际机场8月23日的航班受影响，截至早上6时30分，共有420班航班取消。
