Queensland sign City Deal

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk are expected to sign Australia's first City Deal tomorrow (fri)covering the north Queensland city of Townsville.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk are expected to sign Australia's first City Deal tomorrow (fri)covering the north Queensland city of Townsville.

The prime minister, Queensland premier and Townsville mayor Jenny Hill will be in Canberra  to endorse the agreement, which will set out funding for major job-creation projects such as the football stadium and rail corridor and establish development benchmarks.

The next deals to be unveiled will cover Launceston and Western Sydney.
