A Christian minister who was present at the execution of Bali Nine ring-leader Myuran Sukumaran, is calling for Australians students to be screened and educated, before being permitted to visit Bali, as part of end-of-high-school celebrations.
The calls comes after West Australian teen Jamie Murphy was arrested last month by Balinese police for drug possession before being cleared and released.
Last year, 6-thousand year 12 students headed to Bali for the three-week graduation festivities known as "schoolies".
Reverend Christie Buckingham has told S-B-S, would-be teen-travellers should be vetted before heading visiting Bali.
She says, "To have checks before they leave Australia to make sure they have certain things in place and that they have certain knowledge of different aspects of what could happen to them in Indonesia and what they should do about that."
