The IPC announced the decision to suspend the Russian Paralympic Committee in Rio,

Sir Philip Craven, the organisation's President says Russia's Paralympians were part of a broken system that stems from the Russian government.

"The facts really do hurt. They are an unprecedented attack on every clean athlete who competes in sport. The anti-doping system in Russia is broken, corrupted and entirely compromised."

Russia immediately announced it would be appealing against the ban to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
