Search for 32 missing after tanker collides with freighter off China coast

A rescue operation is underway after two ships collided off the Chinese coast, leaving 32 crew members missing.

据外交部发言人耿爽表示,据了解,2018年1月6日晚,一艘巴拿马籍油船与一艘中国香港散货船在长江口以东约160海里处发生碰撞。事故造成油船失火,散货船破损。

据悉失踪的船员全部来自Sanchi号油船——30名伊朗人和2名孟加拉人。

据此前的报道,两船相撞后,加油船起火并已经燃烧了近24小时。

油船上运载着13.6万吨来自伊朗的石油前往韩国,事故令人担忧石油可能会倾泻进入海中,或被引燃。

据报道,中国海事部门已经派出多艘搜救船只到现场进行搜救,同时也已派出清污船只赶往现场,防止发 生次生灾害。韩国海洋保护部门也触动了一艘船和一架飞机来参与援救。

目前事故原因还在调查中。
