Shorten rejects Dastyari’s call to ban all political donations

The Labor leader supports banning political donations from overseas, but warns the Australian people are not yet ready to foot the bill for election campaigns.

邓森去年因为接受商人支付自己的私人开支,而辞去工党前排职务。
他在接受澳洲广播公司节目访问时,形容政治捐献等同“军备竞赛”,而他曾经是这场“军备竞赛”的“军火商”,负责工党的筹款,他认为这种做法需要停止。

邓森表示,自己是现实主义者,认为政治捐献制度需要改革,作出更大限制,他说澳洲宪法允许这种改革。

工党领袖肖顿支持禁止外国捐款,但是不支持禁止来自澳洲公司和个人的政治捐款,警告称,澳洲人还没有准备为大选宣传买单。

“在政治捐款上,我不认为纳税人准备为澳洲的全部政治开销买单。所以我依然认为有政治捐款的位置。”他对ABC表示,“但是我不认为应该允许外国捐款”。

工党和联盟党都提出禁止外国捐款,但是还没有相关的立法出台。而且这一提议在政界仍然有争议,有议员认为澳洲很多人和组织与外国政府有联系,令禁令形同虚设。
