Sydney woman fights for life after nail gun attack

A 50-year-old woman is in a critical condition in hospital after she was fired at by a man with a nail gun during a domestic incident in western Sydney.

A woman is fighting for her life after she was attacked with a nail gun during a domestic incident in western Sydney.

The 50-year-old woman was treated for cuts to her face at a Bonnyrigg Heights home on Tuesday night before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition for surgery.

Police called to the Messina Crescent home about 10.30pm were told the woman and a 20-year-old man were in an altercation before the woman was struck in the head by projectiles from a nail gun.

A second man was treated at the home for shock.

A 20-year-old man was arrested about 3.45am on Wednesday and was taken to Fairfield Police Station for questioning.
