A severe weather warning has been issued as another cold front moves eastwards across Victoria, with residents warned to take measures to protect lives and property.
Another day of damaging winds is already being felt across the Melbourne metropolitan area, as the weather bureau issued its latest alert for winds peaking at 90km/h from South Australia to the NSW border.
Emergency crews are attending numerous calls for damage to property and trees down in suburbs across Melbourne on Tuesday morning, VicEmergency said.
The SES has warned residents to take measures to protect themselves and their property by staying clear of any fallen power lines, moving vehicles under cover or away from trees and securing loose items around their homes.
Winds averaging 60-70km/h with peak gusts of around 90km/h are expected as the latest cold front moves across the south of the state, the Bureau of Meteorology warned.
