In just six weeks into 2019, Australian officials including Prime Minister Scott Morrison have been visiting the Pacific region one after another. At the same time, countries such as China, India and New Zealand are reported to plan to visit the region too. So what leads to such an intense focus on this region? Elsa Tsang reports.
