Water Margin, also named Shui Hu Zhuan, is a novel written by Shi Nai'an. The novel is considered one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature. The author used mainly written vernacular Chinese as opposed to Literary Chinese. Ms. Yuk Ching Chan has more details.
