Internet, whichi the vast majority people use through computers or phones, brings the Big Data era.
More than a decade ago, people found that using the internet search engine can even infer who the person is by analyzing the information left by a specific user. Internet is quite progressive and broad, which knows your habits, preferences, and even your private information through big data analysis. For example, a recent article said, google understands you even more better than your friends and family do. Google "big data" shows the most people complain of marriage is not lacking of love, but sex. The actual proportion of homosexuals may higher than the survey data shows.
How does big data help and influence people's daily lives? How to take care of privacy protection as people embrace the era of big data? Gang Li, an associate professor from the School of Information Technology at Deakin University, Vice President of IEEE Data Mining and Big Data Analysis, shares his opinion to SBS Mandarin on the topic.
