A Chinese scientist Dr. He Jian Kui shocked the world by claiming to have created the world’s first genetically-edited twin baby girls.

But his experiment has attracted global condemnation from scientists at home and abroad. They cited it was a crazy medical experiment without due respects to medical ethics and voiced serious concern on the later healthy development of the twin baby girls.

Having said that there are also academics, who believed He's experiment deserved a closer look and proper assessment.

So who is right and who is wrong?

Our correspondent Renee Kwan reports.
