The 27th Hong Kong Book Fair ended yesterday on a disappointing note, with sellers and publishers blaming the internet for a drop in readership.They said that while there was a surge in the number of visitors, there were fewer buyers. One seller claimed the increased attendance was simply due to people who wanted to escape from the hot weather.Several publishers offered huge discounts and book club memberships in an apparent bid to clear their shelves.
