Kevin Rudd seeks nomination for UN secretary-general

Foreign Minister Julie Bishop has confirmed that former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has asked the federal government to nominate him as the next United Nations Secretary General.Twelve candidates have been formally nominated to succeed Ban Ki-moon. Ms Bishop says the request is a matter for the Cabinet.Aaron reports.
