Labor kills off government’s proposed same-sex marriage plebiscite

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull will not commit to holding a free vote in Parliament on same-sex marriage after Labor pledged to block the Governments plebiscite. Without the support of Labor, the Greens and key crossbenchers, the proposed bill is almost certainly doomed to fail in the Senate.Aaron has the details.
