Last week, we saw markets were largely dominated by two main factors. One, US and China delegates convened a new round of trade talk in Beijing. Although both parties had expressed optimistic assessment to the waiting media, but markets largely adopted a wait and see attitude.

Secondly, last week, China and US had both released latest round of economic data. all pointed to a negative  growth scenario.

And this had caused huge upset to individual markets like Hang Seng and Nikkei on Friday.

But after all, most of them still recorded a slight rise in weekly trade. And markets have every reason to expect a good ride at the start  of the week at least.

Today, we have invited independent economic analyst and strategist, Dr Po Man Chan, to update the latest round of US and China trade talk. The focus now is how likely if they are able to reach an agreement before the deadline? And was there any change in the  trading environment , reflected by their lackluster economic figures, highlighting the urgency of both countries to reach an earlier agreement?
