VCE Chinese has been offered in Victoria for more than 20 years, but the current categorisation may discourage non-Chinese background students because of competition in their cohort. This competition issue has affected Chinese language teaching and learning in Victoria in the last two decades. After several years great endeavour and hard work by many people, the new Chinese study design-Chinese Language, Culture and Society has officially been published and will start its implementation in 2017.
