At least nine people were killed and 50 others wounded in a Christmas market in Berlin, Germany . Meanwhile, the Russian Ambassador was killed in the Turkish capital Ankara. Also, 2016 saw many attacks deemed as terrorism around the world, from Africa to Asia, across the Middle East and to Europe and North America. The self-proclaimed Islamic State took responsibility for some of the largest attacks.
