Migrants facing lots of settling issues, posting a threat to their mental health and making their settling process very difficult. Therefore some welfare organizations came around serving migrant residents. New Life Evangelical Care running various kinds of community services targeting migrants living in the Melbourne eastern suburbs. And according to its program coordinator, Miss Wong, it started off as a church outstretch group looking after new migrants to adapt to the life of Australia, but as time goes by, it has registered and become a non profit organization. So what drove the pioneers of the church group to embark a new journey of social community work ? What benefits could they expect to expand their community services? Who are their target clients and what are their new programs these days? Miss Wong, their program coordinator will tell us more about their developing community services.
