Thirty-seven political parties and civic groups will mark the second anniversary of the Occupy movement today, with organizers hoping for higher attendance amid a record-high voter turnout in the recent Legislative Council elections. The anniversary events from 5pm to 11pm will be held at the public space from the elevator at the intersection of Harcourt Road and Tim Mei Avenue leading to the Legislative Council, to the end of Tim Mei Avenue, in Tamar. Groups will observe three minutes of silence at 5.58pm, the exact time when the police fired tear gas two years ago, that sparked the 79-day student-led protest.Chan Siu-kam reports.
