A landmark British inquiry has given a scathing assessment of former Prime Minister Tony Blair's decision to join the United States-led invasion of Iraq in 2003. It found that Britain's military involvement was not a last resort, that the legal basis was far from satisfactory and planning for the aftermath of war was wholly inadequate.
