Chinese-New Zealanders increasingly migrating to Australia

In recent years, New Zealand has been experiencing a wave of emigration. More and more people are choosing to move to Australia to live and build their futures — including Prime Minister Christopher Luxon’s daughter, Olivia. Data shows that in 2024, nearly 130,000 people emigrated from New Zealand. Among them, many Chinese families are exploring new opportunities. Some are motivated by their children’s education, others by rising living costs while others are simply seeking a fresh start in Australia.
