Split Fire: drone video shows the scale of destruction

Authorities and citizens in Croatia have brought under control a wildfire that was threatening the nation's second-largest city.

The fire had reached the eastern suburbs of Split after burning four and half thousand hectares of forest and scrubland.

Several hundred firemen, called in from all parts of Croatia, have managed to contain the blaze, assisted by strong winds dying down.

Sixteen people have been injured by the fire.

Two houses and 11 cars were destroyed.
