The Republican nominee Donald Trump and his Democratic counterpart, Hillary Clinton, have faced off in a second televised debate ahead of next month's election. The event frequently descended into bitter squabbling between the two candidates as they clashed - including over recently released secret recordings of Mr Trump, taxes, and foreign policy.
