Far-right candidate defeated in Austria's presidential poll

There could be a sigh of relief from European leaders following the defeat of Austria's far-right presidential candidate, Norbert Hofer. Many had feared an anti-establishment wave that produced Brexit and Donald Trump's election victory in the United States might also reach Austria. As Santilla Chingaipe reports, a win for Mr Hofer would have made him Europe's first freely elected far-right head of state since World War Two.
