Prescription drugs resulting in 250,000 hospitalisations annually

A new report has found 250,000 Australians are hospitalised every year because of adverse reactions to the drugs they have been prescribed to get better. It is a combination of medication errors, inappropriate use and misadventure. The findings have prompted calls for more prescription checks and balances.
