Something has happened with our building dreams. As more and more people want to live in sustainable and economical ways, a new emerging trend is spreading around the world. It's all about needing less - to build tiny houses. An entire Tiny House movement has grown in the United States. We take a look at what movements are under way here in Australia - with regard to making housing affordable by building small and smart. Apart from that, Australia can generally boast of having some of the largest residences in the world - the average is up about 250 square meters per house - twice as high as the average in Denmark. Unfortunately for first-time buyers are also some of the most expensive houses in the world. There are many in Australia who do not earn enough to be able to take a large enough mortgage to buy a home ownership. This could be where the American Tiny House movement come in with a bid to solve that problem. All around the country, there are Australian architects and contractors who have started to develop new design concepts for "tiny homes".
