With news coming out Juba now, the story is changing from the original way it was told on how the fighting started. SBS Dinka Radio team interviewed one of those who was closer to the scene and here is what he said about the incident.
"Outside J1, the forces were well organised and they were mixed between SPLM IO and the SPLM IG officers. All forces were lined up outside J1 and further down other security forces from the Government were deployed at crucial places including roundabouts. At about 6 to 7pm, a black tinted SUV/Land Cruiser arrived with unidentified passengers. The person in the car then quickly opened the window and started a drive by shooting. Prior to the incident, there was tension between the forces because of what happened a night before when 5 soldiers were killed in a fighting between two SPLM forces. After the shooting that car banished and without any hesitation; the groups took their positions and started fighting each”.
There are reports of serious causalities and the situation is still not clear until now. Listen to SBS Dinka Radio for more updates at 11am. Hence all three leaders were not harmed but were still inside the room trying to resolve the tension when conflict the fighting started.
