She learned all these from her own father who was a well-known wrestler and drummer at the same time. Through observation, Achol was able to master what her dad does the best. Achol was noticed after an 8-seconds clip and another longer video were uploaded to Facebook and hese videos spread the so quickly. SBS Dinka with the help of other people who knew the where about gave us her phone. We interviewed Achol today in the Nyamazi refugee settlement in northern Uganda. Achol was shocked to learn that her story is now a talking point on social media. She is not on social media but this is what she has to say about what she loves the most.

Recently; a video emerged showing a female drummer beating a Dinka traditional drum in a refugee camp in Northern Uganda. In many of the Dinka communities, drum beating is a male-dominated role but Achol challenged the odds in this case.
