Excitement cannot explain how grateful members of South and Sudanese Catholic community were, after witnessing the Opening and blessing of Australian Catholic University Campus in Blacktown named after their own St Josephine Bakhita.


The official blessing and  opening of Australian Catholic University's(ACU) Saint Josephine Bakhita campus in Blacktown.

ACU Campus in Blacktown named after St Josephine Bakhita has brought sense of recognition, excitements and hope  to South Sudanese Catholics with many of whom living in Western Sydney. 

Mr. Akok Deng Aleu the chairperson SACC one of those who have attended the event and has these story to share. 

"St Bakhita was a lucky slave abducted and sold many times before she up end in Italy where she got good education and still there  are many people today who live in Sudan. We have seen and witnessed from those who were lied to that after shepherding the cattle they will be given a cow each year, if they ask many years later to be offer they were promised then the matter by come a life or death issue". Said Akok.
