South Sudanese students who are studying in two different Universities in the Indonesian Islands feared that their lives could be in danger if the lockdown could be prolonged.

Highlights

  • Students have no money to buy foods
  • One student is living in different Island
  • There are seven gentlemen and one lady

(Audio in Dinka) The eight students were accepted to private Universities between 2018 and 2109. SBS Dinka radio interviewed John Mathiang from Indonesia this morning and this what he has to say.

“Well, before the outbreak of the virus; our life was normal. The prices of food and other commodities were relatively cheap, equivalent to our monthly budget. Still, since the lockdown of the town, prices have soared, and we are currently finding it difficult to ascertain for the future due to the unpredictable nature of the virus. Before the outbreak, we use to eat at the campus canteen, but since the town in which we are living was locked down, it has left us with no option, but to buy from the market which we can’t afford now.”
