Elijah Kuot Buol: The Queensland Australian of the year Winner

Elijah Kuot Buol is a former South Sudanese refugee who came to Australia in October 2002. For 11 years now, Elijah worked with various agencies including being the advisory member of the council that advises the Minister of Multicultural Affairs in Queensland. As a proud Australian, Elijah calls for an Australia where people live in peace side by side while embracing each other uniqueness.


During the ceremony, Elijah was celebrated and appreciated his role as an ‘advocate n a harmonious, inclusive, and progressive multiculturalism, social justice for young people in Queensland and Australia’. In this interview, Elijah advice African communities to take care for their communities serious and asked them to reach out to other mainstream agencies. Here the part one of the interview.
