Philip Aguer Panyang Jot was the Governor of Jonglei State from 2005-2019. Aguer is a career soldier, a humanitarian who was appointed by President Kiir in consultation with the community in 2015. Aguer told SBS Dinka that he 'learned about his sacking from watching the news on SSBC.'

Despite all of that, Aguer said he is loyal to both the President and the SPLM/SPLA. After the post of Governor, Aguer said he will be going into private sector especially being a lecturer at the University. Here is the exclusive interview with Governor Aguer.
