Adut Akech and her mother Mary Achol

Adut Akechs mother felt no need to feel angry after her daughter became a centre of racist comment this week. Mary Achol came to Australia in 2008 from Kakuma refugee camp while Adut was still a very young small girl. When Adut started her modelling career at the age of 14, Mary objected to the idea because she thought this situation may let Adut drop out of School. She was also not well informed about modelling. Being a single mother, she thought to see Adut in modelling career would expose her to the criticism by the Sudanese community. Mary was convinced after meeting Adut many times. We interviewed her in Dinka.
