Over 1500 South Sudanese lodged their humanitarian applications to come to Australia in 2017-18. In a report published by the Ministry of Home Affairs(Australia’s offshore Humanitarian Program: 2017–18), South Sudanese who might have applied in their countries of residence in Kenya, Uganda, and Egypt were over 1500 applicants. The final report confirms the policy by the coalition that Somalia, Iran and South Sudan were not going to be beneficiaries of the 2017-2018 refugee intake.
