Peter Ayuen Lueth:”My legs are amputated but I am alive and in better position now thank to SBS Dinka listeners”

Peter Ayuen Lueth is one of the few who suffered in the Sudanese war. Wounded many times during the North-South war and again during the South Sudanese conflict. Ayuen was left with serious injuries on both legs that caused damaging infection. The military hospital that he was admitted asked him to provide blood in case of an operation that involves amputating his legs.

Ayuen story was aired on SBS Dinka radio in May of 2017. Many listeners in Australia and the United States rushed in to help him pay for the operation. This lets to a successful operation of both legs to avoid more infection to the rest of the body. Again, his daughter was sponsored by an agency in the USA. Ayuen is stilling being faced with the challenges of moving around because of the amputation on both legs. He doesn't have a wheel share but he was happy to share his happiness with SBS Dinka audience and those who helped him.
