Pieng Deng Majok and Victoria Adhar Arop arrived in Brisbane. Pieng and Adhaar were invited by the unaccompanied minors that they care for 30 years ago. They are attending a 30 anniversary that will be celebrated in Brisbane on 10/03/2018.


Pieng Deng-majok Kuol was a 26 year old officer who was given the responsibility to lead over 26000 young people in the Ethiopian refugee camp of Pinyodu. Many of these children were between the age of 7 and 17. They all came from the corners of South Sudan, especially the Bhar el Gazal and the upper Nile regions. Pieng was with them for three years before he was moved to other duties. Pieng was invited by many of the unaccompanied minors who now lives in Australia. Victoria Adhar Arop chop also came as one of the mothers who cared for the young people in Dimo refugee camp.
