‘Prophet’ Abraham Chol was beaten by police in Juba, he never removed his clothes’

South Sudanese authorities jailed ‘Prophet’ Abraham Chol Maketh for one month for ‘disobeying the social distance rules’. The police were criticised for mishandling his arrest when he was thrown to the car naked. He was accused of violating the Social Distancing rules set by the Coronavirus Taskforce in Juba. Chol’s younger brother was a witness disputed the statement from the police. Makuol Maketh told SBS Dinka that his brother was ‘beaten by police and while he observed the orders that were put in place by the police officer.
