Salva Kiir: “The people who ran to Uganda were chased away by social media”

South Sudanese President Salva Kiir Mayardit in an interview with DW journalist Adrian Kriesch blamed social media for the mass exodus of South Sudanese refugees to neighbouring countries. Last week, UN confirmed that South Sudanese refugees in Uganda have reached the milestone number of one million people. Many of these refugees come across various communities in South Sudan. Many people who happened to be from former Greater Equatoria and Upper Nile were direct victim of the 2013 conflict. In recent months, economic challenges did forced many people to leave the country for better life and security. This podcast is in Dink
