Nyiel Jok Kuer is a mother and grandmother who in her previous life lived as refugee in Eastern African countries before her arrival in Australia. Nyiel has now lived in South Australia for more than a decade. In 2014 after South Sudan went back to war, Nyiel decided with her son in law to write a project to help South Sudanese affected by war. She succeeded in persuading her church members and other community members who donated over 26 thousands Australian dollars. She also got help from Container of Hope a not for profit organisation. Nyiel also go another help from a businessman who gave her bags of sugar, rice and wheat flour. Nyiel was able to transport all that she was given including computer and wheelchairs that benefited over one hundred disables in Bor, Jonglei and Juba. We manage to interview Nyiel for a first time on SBS Dinka Radio.
